Tour de France Femmes: Charlotte Kool doubles up with stage three time-trial victory – live coverage


The third stage of the Tour de France took place with a 6.3km time trial in Rotterdam. Olympic time trial champion Grace Brown was a favorite going into the stage. Australian rider Neve Bradbury mentioned some gravel on the course, but luckily there were no crashes during the stage.

Loes Adegeest set the time to beat at 7min 30secs, while Elena Pirrone posted the fastest time of 7min 44secs so far. A total of 11 national time trial champions participated in the event, with riders like Chloe Dygert, Grace Brown, and Anna Henderson among the top contenders for the stage win.

Stage two saw Charlotte Kool win with a strong sprint finish, marking her second consecutive victory in the tour. The stage was full of exhilarating moments, with Kool showcasing her strength and strategic sprinting abilities.

Kool’s teammate Pfeiffer Georgi expressed confidence in her abilities, highlighting the team’s successful race strategy. Kool herself reflected on her unexpected success, mentioning that dreams are coming true fast for her in this race.

The stage included a crash on a bridge with 3km to go, but fortunately, all riders involved were okay. With the time trial proving to be a challenging and technical course, riders like Kool, Wiebes, and Vos showcased their strength and determination in the competitive event.
