Ukraine’s incursion into the Kursk region of Russia has caused tension at the Sudzha crossing, where Ukrainian troops have pushed into Russian territory, leading to a state of emergency being declared in Russia’s Belgorod region.
German prosecutors have issued an arrest warrant for a Ukrainian man believed to be involved in the Nord Stream sabotage. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces continue to advance in the Kursk region, with reports of drones being targeted by Russian forces. Ukrainian President Zelenskiy has stated that their forces are progressing in the region, with 74 communities under Ukrainian control. Russian authorities are working to quell the situation in Kursk, with attempts to regain control of the territory.
The Ukrainian president’s office has met with US officials to discuss the current battlefield situation and the importance of increasing sanctions pressure on Russia. Russian forces have used missiles and airstrikes to try to regain control in the Kursk region, with Ukrainian forces still in control of several settlements. Ukraine has stated it is not interested in permanently occupying the region but aims to protect its people amidst the conflict.
