Mayor of Atlantic City and his wife charged with abusing teenage daughter

The allegations include Mayor Small hitting his daughter with a broom causing her to lose consciousness, threatening her, and punching her legs, while his wife is accused of hitting her multiple times, dragging her by her hair, and punching her in the mouth. The daughter reported the abuse to a high school employee, leading to an investigation that uncovered video evidence of her injuries. The Mayor’s office denies the allegations, stating that they are innocent and that the issue is a private family matter unrelated to mayoral misconduct. The Atlantic City Public Schools did not immediately comment on the matter. The daughter was admitted to the hospital with a head injury, but Mayor Small and his wife provided a different explanation for the incident that occurred three days prior. The case highlights the serious allegations of abuse against a prominent public figure and raises concerns about the welfare and safety of their child.
