Chappell Roan, a 26-year-old pop star, announced on Friday that she is dropping out of the All Things Go music festivals due to feeling overwhelmed in recent weeks and needing to prioritize her health. The festival expressed support for Roan’s decision, emphasizing the importance of artists prioritizing their well-being. Roan has been open about the toll of fame on her mental health, revealing struggles with severe depression and bipolar II disorder.
In addition to her mental health struggles, Roan has also been vocal about her political views. She faced backlash on social media for refusing to endorse a candidate in the 2024 presidential election and stating that there were issues on “both sides.” She later clarified on TikTok that she would be voting for Vice President Kamala Harris in November but emphasized that endorsing and voting are different.
While some fans were disappointed by Roan’s decision to pull out of the festival, others expressed support for her choice and criticized those who attacked her for her political views. Roan has more shows scheduled in October, but it is unclear if she will be performing at those as well. A spokesperson for Roan did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
