Israel strikes compound of Gaza’s Al-Aqsa Hospital, resulting in one fatality | Updates on Israel-Palestine conflict

An Israeli assault has targeted a medical facility in central Gaza that was sheltering displaced Palestinians, resulting in the destruction of 18 tents and injuring seven people. The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, the only functioning facility in the area, was bombed by Israeli forces, killing at least one person. The hospital has been facing shortages of medical staff, equipment, and medicine, making it difficult to provide care for the thousands of Palestinians it treats.

The attack has been condemned by Al Jazeera journalist Tareq Abu Azzoum, who described the extensive destruction at the hospital compound. Many Palestinian refugees have lost everything they had at the site due to repeated Israeli attacks. Components of the Israeli weapons used in the assault, manufactured in the United States, were also found at the scene.

In addition to the attack on the hospital, Israeli forces targeted other areas in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of four people in Jabalia refugee camp and injuries in other locations. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the US for its support of Israel’s war on Gaza during an address to the United Nations General Assembly. The war has resulted in the deaths of over 41,500 Palestinians and wounded 96,092, with a significant number being women and children.

The repeated attacks on medical facilities and civilian areas in Gaza have been described as war crimes under the Geneva Convention. The international community has been urged to take action to stop the violence and supply of weapons to Israel.
