A shooting in Washington state on Monday left five people dead, including three children, in the Lake Alice Road neighborhood in Fall City. The King County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting early in the morning, with three children and two adults killed. A juvenile suspect was taken into custody, although the relationship between the suspect and the victims is unclear. One person in their mid-teens was hospitalized as a result of the incident.
The suspect is expected to be booked into jail and could face charges of first-degree or second-degree murder. The sheriff’s office noted that there was no known history of police activity at the residence where the shooting took place.
The children involved in the incident did not attend schools in the Snoqualmie Valley School District, but counselors and support staff will be available for anyone who needs assistance. Superintendent Dan Schlotfeldt acknowledged that events like this can impact everyone, including students, and emphasized the importance of providing support during difficult times.
