Man in SW OKC Arrested for Chasing Neighbor with Machete and Shouting Homophobic Slurs Following Police Pursuit

A metro man, Gary Wilson, was arrested by Oklahoma City Police after narrowly missing hitting an officer during a pursuit over the weekend. The incident began when Wilson’s neighbor reported that he was chasing him with a machete and using homophobic slurs. Wilson allegedly threatened to kill the victim while armed with the machete.

When officers arrived at the Seminole Ridge Apartments, Wilson initially fled in his car, driving towards the police officer on the scene, putting both the officer and witnesses in danger. A pursuit was initiated, during which Wilson drove recklessly through red lights and stop signs, ultimately hitting another vehicle.

Officers were able to stop Wilson using a tactical vehicle intervention near a convenience store. He was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, endangering others while eluding police, and assaulting an officer.

The victim reported seeing Wilson take the machete into his apartment before the pursuit, indicating premeditation. Fortunately, the pregnant driver who was hit during the pursuit was not injured. Wilson’s reckless actions put the lives of many in danger, but Oklahoma City Police were able to apprehend him and bring him to justice.
