Members of the Exira Study Club and Audubon Federated Women’s Club recently attended the 2024 GFWC/Iowa Southwest District Convention in Adel on Saturday, Oct. 19. The convention featured Kacey Barrow-Meiner of the Crisis Invention Center in Adel as the guest speaker. District and State Officers, as well as special activities chairmen, provided updates on program areas at the district, state, national, and international levels of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs.
During the event, a business meeting and Memorial Service were also held to honor members. Attendees included Doris Christensen and Marcia Hanson from the Audubon Federated Women’s Club, as well as Jeanne Schwab, Patty Moser, Penny Beaman, and Evelyn Petersen from the Exira Study Club. The convention offered a valuable opportunity for club members to gather, network, and learn about important initiatives within the organization.
The General Federation of Women’s Clubs is a national organization dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service. It provides opportunities for women to engage in meaningful projects and participate in leadership roles.
