Large crowd shows up for first day of in-person early voting in Oklahoma, says Oklahoma Voice

The first day of in-person early voting at the Oklahoma County Election Board saw a massive turnout, with a line snaking through the parking lot and cars overflowing onto Lincoln Boulevard for over a mile. Over 17,000 Oklahomans had already cast their early ballots as of Wednesday morning, with over 81,000 mail-in ballots received. With Oklahoma having one of the shortest early voting periods in the country, many residents opted to vote early to avoid long lines on Election Day.

Voters cited various reasons for voting early, including concerns about long lines, safety, and the historic presidential race between Democrat Vice President Kamala Harris and former Republican President Donald Trump. Despite the long wait times, voter spirits remained high, with many emphasizing the importance of exercising their civic duty.

State election officials have reassured voters of the security and safety of the election process. In-person early voting in Oklahoma will continue through Saturday, providing voters with the opportunity to cast their ballots ahead of Election Day on Tuesday. Information on polling locations can be found on the OK Voter Portal.
