Former Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin, who served multiple terms in various political positions, now enjoys life on the open water with her husband. After retiring from politics, Fallin and her husband decided to take on a new adventure by purchasing a boat and exploring the open ocean and major rivers. Last year, they embarked on a 3,000-mile journey, known as the Down East Circle, which took them from New York City up the Hudson River, east on the St. Lawrence, and around the eastern coast of Canada. Despite facing challenges such as weather delays and language barriers, they successfully completed the journey and even crossed back to the U.S. passing the Statue of Liberty. Only 12 to 15 people complete this route every year, making their accomplishment quite remarkable. Fallin encourages others to chase their dreams, even in retirement, and to pursue what brings them joy. The couple already has goals for their next adventure, showing that age is not a barrier to new experiences and exploration. Life is short, and Fallin believes that everyone should go out and do what they desire, whether it’s on the open sea or elsewhere.
