“Saturday Night Live” lampoons Trump’s selections for cabinet roles

On “Saturday Night Live,” cast members returned to biting satire after last week’s political remarks. The show presented a sketch of a meeting between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, with Trump’s cabinet picks portrayed as unusual. The two presidents engaged in a serious discussion while reporters shouted questions in the background. Trump complained about Elon Musk being at Mar-a-Lago and boasted about his cabinet picks, including Matt Gaetz and Kristi Noem. Alec Baldwin made a cameo as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who expressed vaccine skepticism. Trump even offered Biden a position in his cabinet, but Biden joked about fighting Jake Paul instead. The show also featured a mock podcast called “Banger Boyz!” where Trump called in and made humorous appointments. The “Weekend Update” segment poked fun at Trump’s choices to fire people in six months. Charli XCX served as both the host and musical guest for the night. “SNL” airs on NBC, which is owned by NBCUniversal, the parent company of NBC News.
