In October, burglars broke into the grounds of Britain’s royal Windsor Castle and stole two vehicles, the primary residence of Prince William, Princess Kate, and their family. The burglary was reported to the Thames Valley Police at around 11.45pm on October 13th. The offenders entered a farm building and took a black Izuzu pickup and a red quad bike before fleeing towards a nearby town. No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing. The Sun newspaper first reported the news of the burglary.
The royal family lives at nearby Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, while King Charles III and Queen Camilla reside at Clarence House in London. This incident is not the first security breach in Windsor, as a man armed with a crossbow climbed a fence at Windsor Castle on Christmas Day in 2021 in an attempt to kill Queen Elizabeth II. The man was sentenced to nine years in prison for treason, possession of an offensive weapon, and making threats to kill.
Neither Buckingham Palace nor Kensington Palace responded to requests for comment. Freddie Clayton, a freelance journalist based in London, reported the incident.
