NE OKC Resident Remembers the Last Moments of 14-Year-Old Shooting Victim

Investigation Underway into Shooting Death of Oklahoma City Middle School Student

Oklahoma City, OK – Authorities continue to investigate the tragic shooting death of 14-year-old Jordan Gulley, a student at Millwood Middle School, who was fatally shot over the weekend just a block away from his northeast Oklahoma City home. The incident occurred Saturday night, and local police are actively canvassing the area for leads on a possible suspect.

Witnesses recount a horrifying scene as the shots rang out near East Wilshire Boulevard and Kelley Avenue. Christian Elizalde, a neighbor and mentor to Gulley, was one of the first to respond. He shared that the young victim’s last words were, “I’m going home,” before he collapsed after being shot in the chest. Elizalde, along with another resident, rushed to his side, attempting to comfort him in his final moments.

A wooden cross now stands at the shooting site, serving as a memorial for Gulley, as friends and neighbors gathered to pay their respects. Emotional tributes have poured in from his peers, who expressed disbelief that someone so young could fall victim to gun violence. “Nobody deserves to be killed at a young age,” articulated one friend, highlighting the senselessness of such acts.

As homicide detectives knock on doors in the neighborhood, those close to Gulley remain hopeful for justice, with Elizalde declaring, “There’s gonna be justice coming to them soon.” The police encourage anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact the Homicide Tip Line at (405) 297-1200.

This tragic incident underscores the ongoing issue of youth violence in communities, leaving residents to grapple with the loss of a young life filled with potential.
