Weather Forecast: Seasonal Changes Ahead as Thanksgiving Approaches

As we welcome the weekend, residents can expect clear skies and cooler conditions on Friday, with temperatures reaching a high of 57°F. Tonight’s low will dip to around 36°F, accompanied by light northwest winds. As the weekend unfolds, temperatures will rise significantly, with Saturday’s highs in the mid-60s and reaching the low 70s on Sunday, perfect weather for outdoor activities and OSU and OU games.

However, this warm spell will come to an end as two cold fronts are set to move through the area next week. The first front will arrive Sunday night into Monday morning, dropping temperatures to the mid-50s for Monday. A second, more pronounced front is anticipated to follow on Wednesday, which will bring another drop in temperatures, placing highs in the 40s by Thanksgiving Day.

Residents should prepare for their Thanksgiving plans, as this front is expected to bring a chance of precipitation, likely in the form of cold rain on Wednesday night through Thanksgiving morning. There is a slight possibility of some flakes mixing in, but current forecasts suggest mainly light rain. Fortunately, models indicate that after this front, conditions will remain dry throughout Thanksgiving weekend, minimizing travel impacts for those on the road.
