Oklahoma State Aims to Break 7-Game Losing Streak on Senior Day Against Texas Tech

Texas Tech Prepares to Face Struggling Oklahoma State in Key Big 12 Clash

On Saturday, Texas Tech (6-4, 4-3 Big 12) will travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma to take on Oklahoma State (3-7, 0-7) at 3:30 p.m. ET, airing on ESPN+. The Red Raiders enter the matchup as 3.5-point favorites, seeking to revive their Big 12 title aspirations, while the struggling Cowboys aim to secure their first conference victory of the season after a disappointing seven-game losing streak—the longest under Coach Mike Gundy.

Quarterback Behren Morton will be a focal point for Texas Tech. After a promising start against Oklahoma State last year where he threw for 372 yards and two touchdowns, Morton has thrown for 2,575 yards and 21 touchdowns this season, with only six interceptions. He faces a weak Oklahoma State secondary that ranks among the worst in the nation, allowing nearly 500 yards per game.

Running back Tahj Brooks, a senior, is also poised to make history. Having surpassed Byron Hanspard to become the Red Raiders’ all-time leading rusher with 4,236 yards, Brooks is on the verge of breaking Hanspard’s record for career 100-yard games if he reaches the milestone against the Cowboys.

For Oklahoma State, senior wide receiver Brennan Presley will be a player to watch. Recently becoming the Cowboys’ all-time leader in receptions and joining an elite group of school legends with over 5,000 all-purpose yards, Presley has become an inspirational presence for younger teammates.

The matchup promises intensity as both teams fight for pride and momentum as the season progresses. As Senior Day approaches for the Cowboys, key players like quarterback Alan Bowman and linebacker Collin Oliver will be recognized, adding an emotional layer to the contest.
