Oklahoma State University’s Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory Reaccredited by AAVLD
Stillwater, OK – The Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (OADDL) at Oklahoma State University has proudly announced its reaccreditation by The American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD) Accreditation Committee. This recognition underscores the laboratory’s commitment to excellence in veterinary diagnostics and service quality.
OADDL, which has held full accreditation since 1979, was reviewed through a rigorous peer-review process that involved comprehensive inspections by seasoned professionals with expertise in AAVLD auditing standards. The latest accreditation, which is valid until the end of 2029, reaffirms OADDL’s adherence to ISO-based international standards and quality control processes.
Dr. Jerry Saliki, director of OADDL, highlighted the laboratory’s significant growth in testing volume, noting an increase from 11,000 tests conducted in 1978 to approximately 185,000 requests in 2023. This expansion reflects the laboratory’s evolving service capabilities, now servicing veterinarians and pet owners across 44 states.
"Our commitment to high-quality diagnostics and reliable service is demonstrated through our ongoing compliance with AAVLD accreditation standards," said Saliki. “We are dedicated to continuous improvement, ensuring satisfaction for our diverse stakeholders, including private, state, and federal partners.”
OADDL’s reaccreditation not only enhances the laboratory’s reputation but also reinforces its role as a vital resource in agricultural animal health and disease prevention. The facility remains focused on delivering exceptional diagnostic services, while contributing to the overall advancement of veterinary medicine in the region and beyond.
