Emirates Team New Zealand has been recognized as one of the top five sports technology powerhouses in the world in the 2024 Sports Technology Annual Review and Power List. The team was ranked at #5, ahead of 95 other organizations, showcasing their innovative and technological advancements in the sports industry.
The report, published by The STA Group, highlights the influence and impact of technology in sports across all aspects. Emirates Team New Zealand CEO Grant Dalton expressed great pride in the team’s recognition, emphasizing that as a successful sailing team, they are ultimately a technology company driving innovation not only in sailing but also in industries like marine, sustainability, broadcast, and e-sports.
The team achieved various design and sporting milestones as part of the 37th America’s Cup, including the development of hydrogen-powered foiling chase boats, a new wind-powered land speed record, and the AC Sailing E-Sports Game. Emirates Team New Zealand’s AC75 ‘Taihoro’ also secured victory for the third consecutive time in the America’s Cup.
