Denton Guyer three-star quarterback Kevin Sperry has changed his commitment from Oklahoma to Florida State, as reported by On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Sperry had been committed to the Sooners since March but has now decided to join the Seminoles in Tallahassee.
Ranked as the No. 448 overall prospect and No. 31 quarterback in the 2025 cycle, Sperry is also considered the No. 65 player in Texas. His decision comes as another twist in the recruitment of senior quarterbacks ahead of the Early Signing Period.
Florida State had previously received a commitment from Jacksonville Mandarin four-star quarterback Tramell Jones, who later decommitted and chose the Florida Gators instead. With Sperry now on board, the Seminoles have 13 total commits in their class, which is now ranked No. 25 in the nation according to On3’s Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Sperry, who has thrown for over 2,000 yards and 21 touchdowns in 11 games this season, is set to bolster FSU’s quarterback room. The Seminoles are looking to finish strong on the recruiting trail in the final weeks leading up to National Signing Day, with key commitments from top prospects like interior offensive lineman Solomon Thomas and defensive lineman Kevin Wynn.
Overall, Florida State’s recruiting class for 2025 features several blue-chip prospects, including Peyton Joseph, Byron Louis, Mario Nash, Gregory Thomas, and Chase Loftin, as they continue to build a strong foundation for the future.
