Highly recruited Class of 2025 high school quarterbacks have been making headlines with their commitment flips to other schools. Kevin Sperry, a four-star QB from Denton Guyer (Texas), announced his decision to commit to Florida State, leaving behind his previous commitment to Oklahoma. Sperry has had an impressive season with 1,973 passing yards and 21 TDs.
Sperry’s flip added to the excitement of the day, as other quarterbacks also announced new college destinations. Julian Lewis from Carrollton (Ga.) committed to Colorado, while Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 recruit in the nation from Belleville (Mich.), flipped his commitment from LSU to Michigan.
For Florida State, Sperry’s commitment provided a much-needed boost as they have struggled this season with a 1-9 record. This comes as a rare victory for the Seminoles, who had come close to making the College Football Playoff in 2023.
Sperry’s journey has taken him from playing at Midwest City (Okla.) Carl Albert to Prosper Rock Hill before returning to Texas for his senior season at Denton Guyer. With his success on the field and his commitment to Florida State, Sperry is poised to make an impact at the collegiate level and continue his football career.
