Chilly Week Ahead with a Warm Weekend to Follow
As the weekend approaches, temperatures are set to rise significantly, offering a brief respite from the chilly conditions experienced over the past days. Saturday morning may start off in the 30s, but a warming trend will see highs reach the mid-60s on Saturday and low to mid-70s on Sunday.
Tonight, residents can expect mostly clear skies with temperatures dropping to a low of 39 degrees. Winds will be gentle from the south, ranging between 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday promises a sunny day with a high of 64, as south winds pick up to 10-20 mph. Sunday will continue the warm streak with sunny skies and a high of 71, although winds will increase from the southwest, potentially gusting between 15 to 30 mph.
However, this pleasant weekend will precede two incoming cold fronts. The first front is expected to sweep through late Sunday into Monday, touted to bring cooler air, dropping Monday’s highs to the low 50s, with strong north winds reaching 30 mph. Tuesday’s temperatures will mirror Monday’s cool conditions.
With Wednesday marking the busy Thanksgiving travel day, temperatures will slightly recover into the upper 50s and low 60s, though clouds are anticipated due to a minor weather system. While a few sprinkles and possibly light flurries could occur on Wednesday night into Thursday, significant impacts are unlikely.
Thanksgiving and Black Friday will see temperatures drop into the 40s, maintaining a cool but quiet holiday weekend with no substantial weather disruptions expected in the Southern Plains.
