Fourth American prisoner-hostage exchange

Red Cross officials arrived in Gaza City to pick up Keith Siegel, who was handed over by Hamas. The scene was orderly compared to previous exchanges, with Siegel receiving a goodie bag after Red Cross workers signed documents. Israelis watched the hostage exchange from Tel Aviv, where Ofer Kalderon and Yarden Bibas were released from Hamas captivity. Siegel was transferred to the Red Cross in the Port of Gaza ahead of his return to Israel. His wife and son were on their way to meet him. A total of 183 Palestinian prisoners were expected to be released in exchange for the hostages. Hamas militants awaited the Red Cross at Gaza Port to hand over Siegel. Kalderon and Bibas arrived in southern Israel, with questions remaining about the fate of Bibas’ wife and young sons. The exchange was carried out in an orderly manner, in contrast to previous chaotic handovers. The IDF confirmed that Kalderon and Bibas were on their way back to Israeli territory. Siegel was among three hostages set to be released according to Hamas, who was kidnapped during an attack in 2023. Hamas stated that Siegel will be released along with Bibas and Kalderon as part of the exchange with Israel.
