Sources suggest that pro-athlete home burglaries could potentially be connected to a raid in New York City’s Diamond District.

The FBI and NYPD raided a business in New York City’s Diamond District linked to a South American transnational theft group that targeted wealthy individuals’ homes across the country. The operation was allegedly involved in buying and selling stolen goods, known as “fencing”. One man was arrested at the location, with another taken into custody later. Investigators are looking into potential connections to recent burglaries of star athletes’ homes, including Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. Additional arrests were made in Florida related to the theft group, which has targeted NFL and NBA players and other wealthy individuals. Security alerts were issued to players due to break-ins while they were away with their teams, including NBA stars Luka Doncic, Bobby Portis, Mike Conley Jr., NFL players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities not commenting on further details. The FBI confirmed the arrest based on a warrant from the Eastern District of New York, while the U.S. attorney’s office in Tampa and the FBI’s Tampa office did not provide immediate comment.
