Governor Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma has issued Executive Order 2025-04, establishing the Division of Government Efficiency (DOGE-OK) within the Office of Management and Enterprise Services. The purpose of this division is to eliminate wasteful government spending, improve efficiency, and ensure taxpayer dollars are used effectively. Stitt aims to keep the focus on flat budgets and limiting government while working on behalf of all Oklahomans in the most efficient way possible.
DOGE-OK will work collaboratively with state agencies and officials to identify and root out inefficiencies and government waste. The unpaid Chief DOGE Advisor will lead the division, reporting directly to Stitt with broad authority to review agency budgets and operations. By March 31, the division will submit a report outlining strategies for efficiency, fiscal reforms recommendations, and specific agency budget findings.
This new division builds upon Stitt’s previous initiatives such as the Break the Tape initiative, State Fleet Reduction Initiative, and ending work from home policies. During his recent State of the State address, Stitt pledged to have fewer state employees at the end of his term than when he took office in 2019.
This move reflects Governor Stitt’s commitment to improving government efficiency and ensuring taxpayer dollars are used wisely in Oklahoma. The establishment of DOGE-OK signifies a step towards making the state more effective and accountable in its use of resources.
