JP Losman, the assistant director of player personnel at the University of Oklahoma, is reportedly leaving his position to join the University of Washington as the school’s assistant quarterbacks coach. Losman, a former NFL first-round pick, played quarterback under Washington coach Jedd Fisch with the Seahawks. He has also worked at Clemson and Oklahoma in coaching roles, starting in 2017.
Losman’s wife Zulaikha, who served as Director of SOUL Mission/Player and Family Relations at OU, was also a key member of the support staff. JP Losman finished his college career at Tulane and went on to have playing stints with the Buffalo Bills, Oakland Raiders, Miami Dolphins, and Seattle Seahawks.
When Brent Venables was hired at Oklahoma, Losman and his wife made the jump with Venables from Clemson, where they had been working from 2019-2022. In addition to Losman’s departure, Washington State offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle also brought John Kuceyeski with him to Oklahoma to serve as a senior offensive analyst and work with the quarterbacks.
Kuceyeski had previously served as Washington State’s quarterbacks coach under Arbuckle and as the director of player personnel at Western Kentucky. With experience at various schools, including Eastern Illinois, Cornell, Iowa State, and Northwestern, Kuceyeski brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role at Oklahoma. This move signals a shift in the coaching staff at both Oklahoma and Washington, with impactful changes expected as the teams prepare for the upcoming season.
