A preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board suggests that prior damage to the landing gear on Vince Neil’s private jet could have contributed to a fatal crash in Arizona earlier this month. The same flight crew had a landing issue with the Learjet in Oklahoma in June 2024, where both left main landing gear tires burst after a hard landing. A mechanic was hired to perform an inspection, which resulted in the removal of both main landing gear. The NTSB noted that the landing gear had disconnected from the airframe in at least three other events due to a certain bolt not being properly engaged through a pin. It is possible that the pin, which the grease must flow through, was not installed correctly. The fatal crash claimed the life of 78-year-old pilot Joie Vitosky, according to the Scottsdale Police Department.
