Nolan Schubart and Brock Thompson led the Cowboys offensively, with Schubart hitting a homer and driving in three runs while Thompson had two RBIs. Hunter Watkins pitched five strong innings to earn the win, while Sean Youngerman got his first save of the season.
Mississippi State took an early lead with a solo home run, but Oklahoma State quickly responded to tie the game in the first inning. The Cowboys then broke the game open in the third inning, scoring five runs to take a commanding lead. Schubart hit a three-run homer in the sixth to extend their advantage.
Despite a late rally by Mississippi State in the seventh inning, the Cowboys held on for the win thanks to strong pitching from Ryan Ure and Youngerman. With this victory, Oklahoma State improved their record to 6-4 while the Bulldogs fell to 7-4.
