Baylor and Oklahoma State Secure Big 12 Equestrian Awards in February


Baylor University’s Madison Mitchell and Alexis Rutledge, along with Oklahoma State’s Riley Hogan and Emma Filiatreau, have been named the Big 12 Equestrian Riders of the Month for February. Mitchell excelled in the fences discipline with a 3-0 record and an MOP performance against Fresno State. Rutledge led the Bears in horsemanship with three wins, while Hogan won her sole competition in the flat discipline and Filiatreau secured her fourth MOP in reining.

Mitchell, a native of Clarkson, Michigan, averaged a score of 79.5 and helped the Bears win the Fences discipline in all three matches she competed in. Hogan’s victory against Baylor improved her record to 7-2 for the season, while Rutledge remained undefeated in February with an average score of 74.9 and an MOP against Oklahoma State. Filiatreau, a sophomore, achieved her fourth MOP of the season with a score of 71.5 in reining.
