Fatal collision involving senior pedestrian and vehicle reported on US-177 in Sulphur, Oklahoma.


Sulphur, Oklahoma – A tragic pedestrian car accident occurred on Wednesday evening on US Highway 177 and Cedar Blue Road, resulting in the death of 81-year-old David L. Supernaw. Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that John W. Harden, 55, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado northbound on US-177 when he struck Supernaw, who was walking across the highway in dark clothing at night. Supernaw was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the collision was determined to be pedestrian action. This serves as a reminder to always exercise caution and be visible when walking near roadways, especially at night.
