Hyatt has been focused on transforming the all-inclusive resort experience, expanding its portfolio with acquisitions and new brands. Following the acquisition of Apple Leisure Group in 2021, Hyatt has launched new brands like Hyatt Vivid, emphasizing experiential programming and amenities. The upcoming Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana resort in the Dominican Republic, set to open by the end of 2025, will embody this new approach with locally inspired itineraries, wellness amenities, and lifestyle-focused features like a sports bar and jazz club.
In addition to the Hyatt Vivid expansion, Hyatt is also opening several new properties in the Dominican Republic, including Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa and Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa, as well as Secrets Tides Punta Cana and a Hyatt Centric in Santo Domingo. Antonio Fungairino, Hyatt’s head of development for the Inclusive Collection, expressed excitement about the brand’s growth in the region, highlighting the Dominican Republic’s appeal as a high-end hospitality destination.
With a focus on offering travelers a diverse range of experiences, Hyatt’s expansion in the Dominican Republic reinforces its commitment to leadership in the all-inclusive segment. As the company continues to innovate and evolve its offerings, guests can look forward to a new standard of luxury and immersive experiences at Hyatt’s growing portfolio of properties in the region.
